23rd and 24th Last Njd outings before go tak chek

Last Thursday 23rd Oct,
decided to cut short the physical training session to 8pm so that we can have a dinner somewhere else other than bukit timah market, al amin or KAP Mac...which I'm sick of....
To make up for it, I increased the intensity of training. Shawn could not take the physical intensity as usual but hope he will not give up the fight for better health! I used to have his ailments but exercise brought me outta it. It will do the same for him if he can keep it up!

After training, it began to rain....well pour in certain parts. The pickup was totally packed with people and poor Jimmy has to settle for the back seat since he was late(due to vanity!) in joining us.

Fortunately he's got his disposable poncho.

Looks real psychotic in this pic!! Like some sort of murderous hitchhikers ready to stab us into pieces when we least expected it!

Finally decided to go East Coast Lagoon Food Village for our dinner since I promised them I will go further East this time. 4 outta the 6 juniors that came along live in the East anyway.
At the carpark, Amin managed to frighten a couple into submission by appearing outta nowhere in the dark and we got free carpark coupons! Well not exactly, but thanks to those kind people for the coupons!

The seat we chosen was not exactly sheltered properly and due to the wind direction, Marcus and I had to have dinner with a literal chill down our spine!
Damn! I'm getting good at self group cam whoring! Practice makes perfect!

The window started fogging up cos it was so cold outside and so many of us squeezed into the pickup. Marcus wrote NJD and I followed it up with Mobile!

This time Jimmy ran outta poncho so everyone gotta squeeze at the back seat. GYM had to be stacked on Jimmy! Jianyang was left outta this pic and Amin was left with only an eye!

Never mind... To get a better picture of the situation:

By the time I send them home was quite late already. Thanks to the rain, there was lesser erm....."Govt white ants" on the road so I can travel faster.....managed to reach home before 12 I think?

24th Fri:
The camera was with me but din take a shot. Damn waste.

Movie outing with the juniors to watch Tropic thunder!
It was quite a nice turnout.
Let's see: Shipei, Marcus, Clarice, Jimmy, Xinyu, Ilyana, Amin, Amin's fren Michelle from Nursing and myself. 9 in all.
Still haven broken the record of 20 ticks that I booked many years back for the movie Hero by Jet Li.
This was one of the few times (or 1st time) that I seen Amin not frolicking with Clarice cos he's too busy entertaining Michelle. Poor Little Devil.... Heheh....Poetically, at least there is another nursing fella to step in to fill the gap.

Shipei and Ilyana as usual was always on time and I really appreciate that. Ilyana was all dressed up due to her class agreement to do so every Friday. Cool eh? Xinyu came later cos she lost her wallet, ahem,...- at home. Had Long John Silvers for dinner which is like a small case of deja vu. Also had LJS prior to watching Burn before Reading a week ago. After that is a short lorry ride to fetch Clarice from United Square where she was at her mom's bdae dinner.
Fortunately my sixth sense asked me to call Jimmy along. Usually for such a simple pick up and go I would have went alone. When Clarice came up, her parents were with her. Wah always felt awkward when talking to someone else's parents! Dunno what to say except for a hasty greeting of Happy Bdae to her mother. Due to the panic even forgot to thank her for helping with the booking of the chalet last month. Then she asked if I was the instructor.... wah! pua kang tao liao! This ninja's identity has been compromised! Anyway I hope I did not appear rude in any way.

Among us 8 ninjas and 1 guest......2 of our kunoichis were not of suitable age yet. Tropic Thunder was M18(actually I dun see what's all the fuss). Was not that worried about Xinyu as she can pass off as 18 but Clarice... hmmmm... well hoped that she will pass BELOW their radar....
Had to really become ninjas and sneak them in through the crowd which in the end was not all that difficult.

Tropic Thunder was a good show but somehow not as laughable as Ben Stiller's previous works. Tons of Vietnam war movie parodies like the part where he posed the famous position in the movie Platoon. Robert Downey Jr did a fantastic job in this movie eclipsing even Stiller himself. But then again, Stiller was multitasking as the director too. Another peeve would be the cinema speaker was tuned a tad too loud.

After the show, Clarice had to be a good little devil and go home straight due to pang seh-ing her mom's bdae dinner earlier and so did Michelle and Marcu(-rella)...... Din feel like going home just yet so went for supper instead.

Chose Jalan Kaya for Prata, even though it is far from a "A-list" in terms of prata place but my casuarina curry is not 24hrs and I cannot bring myself to return to thomson rd yet. Bought the prata there but ate at Yishun Dam. It was a short drive since the opening of the Seletar west camp gate shortened the journey.

Th crowd at the dam was quite well behaved for a Friday night. No drag racing, bike wheelying, speaker blasting like the past. The juniors learnt how to eat prata without utensils, table and chairs and Shipei understudied the formidable "San Zhi Shen Gong" from Amin---- how to tear a prata with 3 fingers.

After dinner we had a tiny emergency. At first i thought Xinyu is experiencing discomfort to the eyes due to all the wind at the back of the lorry drying her contacts. Turns out that the right side contacts of hers found inspiration from my driving and tried to do some "cornering" themselves. Lucky that Amin has a bottle of eye drops which we thought will immediately solve the problem and "flush" the naughty lens back into position. Nope din work. Xinyu looked real distressed by then and everyone suddenly turned into impromptu paramedics with limited tools and medication. What to do? Standard.. we all use eye power loh. Heh..
See beh heng got my LED with me. If not sure cannot locate the lens. It's holed up all the way to the right corner of the eye. And our attempt to try and rub it out caused it to fold up like a prata. A few more drops of Amin's eye drops and rolling of the eyeball finally dragged it out. Lens was in really bad shape but couldn't do anything but tempt stored inside the eye drop bottle. There goes yet another pair!
Moral of story: in dry conditions and late night outings, wear specs!!
