17th-19th: Eventful weekend! Part 2-Semakau

Yes a trip to Pulau Semakau!!! So much excitement to visit a landfill......erm.. that's just me....

Fri slept late
Sat 18th woke up real early.
Sunday 19th woke even earlier!

Was suppose to meet Wilson for the Pulau Semakau CEO Run 2008 at Pasir Panjang Ferry Terminal at 7 am. Fortuanately it's near my place.
We are to represent ECO for this event where the funds raised in this run will be given to 6 green NGOs including ECO.
For me, I'm just in it for the fun of it since I haven been to Semakau before and help back up Wilson if anything happens. I left ECO years ago but I'll still do my part as a fren. We were give a dri fit event shirt and cap. Both of which is of good quality. But then again, it is a govt event with lots of tua taus from MNCs.

Wilson was lost, as usual and I got to guide him by phone on how to come to the ferry terminal.
Once over there, he wasted no time in networking with all the big shots and ministers. Something which is absolutely neccessary for him but not me. So I joined in only when needed.

Only boarded the Falcon Princess around 8+. Wah...should have slept later.

Inside this fast craft was already decorated and AV equipment set up so that the host DJ Xu Zhen Rong and Celeb Jade Seah can entertain the crowd.

Nice looking pair........................of legs....

Briefing for the Run at Semakau.....

Random shots of the sea from the window.

First sight to greet you when you disembark. Was almost expecting the bell sound which was common to signal workers going to Pulau Bukom when the fast craft stopped.

Views from the shuttle bus to take us to the starting point. It's really nice and quiet for an island that is suppose to contain all our garbage! Planning of the landscape is standard NEA.

Starting/gathering point area to brief and prep for run.

Warm up stretching of the masses............

Warm up stretching for the celebs......

CEOs start your engines.....

and their off!

First Lady to complete is this ang moh....

and she was greeted warmly by Minister Dr Yaccob Ibrahim and her family. Of cos... shots of minister and children are a must!

Dr Amy Khor, Mayor Southwest District, finishes her run. All picture perfect except for headband and wristband Nike tick is upside down. Ok I'm being picky.....

Aftermath of Run

Prize giving to the Corporate sponsors
and to the runners
More potraits to the cheerful minister of Env & WR.

More eye candy...

And the cheque giving ceremony.
Corporate Group Shot

While over at our ECO booth:

Akim Enomoto (German-Japanese Yandao kia), and Dr Ryal. Finally got to meet and talk to this man that I heard so much about.

Here are more views of the picturesque isle:

And the ship in the middle of the previous pic. Andy's 80-200 F2.8 lens is nice!

Saw quite a number of fisherman on the coastal shores. Sure to go back one day when I'm free!
