Bunch of NP losers!

Met up with Xiao mei and her project team on Saturday to guide her team mates and participants around Pulau Ubin together with HC. This trip was suppose to be part of their course project to organise a event. What happened today was even beyond my worse expectations. Please bear with me for this "complain-ful post" whoeva you are that is reading this. I will try to mention ONLY the major piss offs of the day.

Firstly to start the day off, even before I see their faces, I was given a taste of their complete lack of IQ, communication, planning, responsibility, proactiveness, EQ, courtesy, etc, etc...
Was waiting at Tiong Bahru MRT platform for them to arrive when I got a call from Derrick. The initial plan was for them to arrive so I can board it to continue our trip to Tanah Merah Station where we can transit to bus no 2. Derrick mentioned that the "Leader" did not agree in getting off the train and out of the control station to rendezvous with me. HUH? WTF!!?? Since when was that the plan? I did mention that I will wait for them INSIDE the platform!! Not outside the control station!!! Who will be so DUMB as to wait outside??? And even IF I'm really that STUPID to wait outside, you are oblidged to come outside!!! Who the F*** do you think is going to guide you? For FREE somemore! Who is the one who requested for my help? and who is the one that bothered to come down to clementi previously to give you all the advice for the planning of the schedule? I very much wanted to just go home, if not for Xiao mei. Kaoz! I could be out with Christine whom I have already neglected alot recently.

There was already people late before they met up with me, and even after we reached Changi Village, one from their team was late by another 1 plus hr! Putting everything way behind schedule! What kinda team is this? The participants they gathered are not in the least bit interested in this event nor learn more about nature and litters their empty mineral water bottles all over Ubin (as reported to me by a fuming Joyce).

The project group was totally just doing this project to the least bit of effort as possible. The only effort I can see was placed into thinking which part of the trip they can shortcut without letting the lecturer know.

They don't even bother to speak to or control the participants that they have brought along for the day. Even the boarding of the bum boat really caused me to hit the roof. I had to be the one to help ask the attitude laden teens to board! I had easier time dragging dead horses. Where was the organising committee? They should be the one handling this!
At the bicycle shop, They took almost half an hour to actually rent the bicycle cos no one from the comm wanted to actually step out and gather all the Ch**by* ginnas to facilitate the renting. At that point, I was already so pissed that I totally heck care the situation already. So was Derrick- "this is the first time I see someone take so long just to Rent a bicycle!" I just bargain for the bicycles and rented William's, Joyce's and Derrick's bike. All done within 40 secs. And that was already done at leisure pace!!

What was initially suppose to start at 2pm, actually started at 430pm.
Wonderful Waste of Time.
There was a number of places I intended to show them in the initial plan but what the heck, no time is better, no mood anyway.
The LEadEr decided to stay back and look after the food....Come on! Yes, I can see that you are totally not a nature person but they are only going to cycle to the Thai Temple and that's it! The food can be placed elsewhere as I know people on the island! How motivated a team Leader!

I understand their intention to shortcut the event and go back straight after the nature night walk(which I specially called HC down to Ubin for), not everyone likes to stay out in the wild. This was of course not communicated to their lecturer who really thinks they are going to stay over on the island.
But guess what? They suddenly out of the blue decided to change the plan and cut even shorter! They decided to cut the night walk too!
Let's have a fast overview at the things they did since they arrived in Ubin:
1) Ride rented bicycle to Thai Temple
2) Cooked instant noodles for dinner
3)....erm that's it!

Wah damn tiring leh! Might actually strain a muscle!

They actually had to wait for HC to arrive at Ubin before deciding to cancel the night walk. Guess they might have tire out their brains too or they would have considered the following stuff:
1) I specially booked HC from 2 months back for this event cos you specially requested for nature guiding.
2) HC being a nice person, didn't mind helping out for free for this even though he is a professional nature guide with nature society among other posts and has so much stuff on his hand that day. I even had to pull HC out of Wilson's hand as he was suppose to be at the NDP practise that day. This ain't particularly nice or easy. Coming all the way from Woodlands ain't a short trip either....

And you all wanna send him packing?
The hell I would do that! I continued the night walk without them with my Ninjado juniors and I enjoyed that more anyway! Ended up they still could not go back and had to wait for us reluctantly at the jetty as they do not wanna pay for an extra boat for us.

Ok gotta cut this short. Enough.
As I have left out all the small details, today's little event was actually far worse than it sounds on this post. Possibly the WORST event I have the misfortune to be involved in since poly days! They do not even realise that they are wasting not 1 but 2 professionals' precious weekend time. To think that their group leader is already 24 years old! Come on! And here I was thinking I'm extremely childish for a 25! That's it. If there are going to be anymore future guiding, be it nature or urban, it's going to be fully chargeable. Way too sick of people taking our services for granted just because we do it out of passion. For free. Perhaps when their pockets start to hurt will they take things seriously.

Update: HC found out that he lost his PDA at ubin the next morning. We rushed back to ubin but to no avail...not that our hopes was high anyway. Now I'm really totally too paiseh to face him liao... to actually lost his PDA after all the things that happened... this trip is really not worth it.
